Approach

My therapeutic approach integrates the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Somatic Experiencing and Polyvagal Theory, and other pertinent techniques that are individualized to the client.


Experience

I have experience in working with a variety of concerns for clients, including trauma, attachment, somatic complaints, depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship concerns, and other various mental health concerns. I am also a licensed counseling supervisor in North Dakota and enjoy working with new counselors as they work towards their LPC/LPCC licensure.

  • Master’s in Counseling - University of Mary - Graduated April 2014

  • Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision - Graduated in August 2020

  • Level 2 Hypnosis training, American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH)

  • EMDR trained

Hi! I'm Jenise Wilson, PhD, LPCC-S, NCC and I am the owner and counselor of the Trauma and Attachment Institute. I have been passionate about empowering minds and hearts since 2014 in North Dakota.

I am a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) and national certified counselor (NCC) and I have worked in a variety of different settings with a focus on trauma and attachment-based work. I received my master’s in counseling in 2014 from the University of Mary and my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision in August 2020.
